Public Education One of the core responsibilities of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary is boater safety. Every year, many recreational boaters are injured or killed. Yet many of these unfortunate events could have been prevented. The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary has a proud traditions of presenting the general public the very best in boater safety through education. If you have never taken a boater safety class, please consider investing your time. It may very well save your life. Courses
The Maryland law states that anyone born on or after July 1, 1972, must
have a certificate of boating safety education while operating any
motorized vessel. This certificate must be with the operator of the boat
at all times. The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary offers boater safety
classes
Many
insurance companies will offer discounts on boat insurance to
individuals who successfully complete this course. Individuals who
successfully complete the course and exam are awarded certificates and
cards.
